Hope everyone had a great weekend! We ended up going out to eat quite a bit this weekend, which is always good for recipe inspiration... but also when you need a break from being 'trapped' inside your house all winter. We tried a couple new-to-us restaurants including the Walrus and Super Chef's, both for brunch! :)
We also finally went to the Columbus Museum of Art for the first time since they expanded. So many more exhibits now! I'm typically more of a painting art appreciator since it is easier for me to find meaning in it, but the wire sculpture and the room with just a giant barrel on a rope were really neat.
Today was so nice that we went for a walk around Blendon Woods. There was an entire flock of turkeys! And all kind of ducks in the wildlife sanctuary. We were looking for bald eagles that have been spotted at the northern Columbus metroparks, but no such luck. Then coming back home I found signs of Spring everywhere! Hopefully that means the groundhog was right and Spring is here soon! Alright, here is this week's menu... shrimp tacos crab cakes and steamed broccoli salmon sliders and crispy potatoes broccoli cheddar pot pies (carryover from last week) stuffed shells
Wow, it has been a long time since I have posted anything! Work has been insanely busy, so I needed to let things go for a while. Getting home after 8pm has meant cooking the quickest thing possible and eating it before falling asleep, so it meal planning hasn't been that inspiring. Trying to take back control and get back to normal. We're already almost two weeks into Lent... instead of giving up all meat this year, I am including fish/seafood this year. Keeps a few of our staple meals and restaurants in the rotation. So far, so good! I'm pulling a lot from our tried-and-true vegetarian list and hoping I don't get sick of salmon or tacos from this list.
This weekend was beautiful in Columbus, blue skies and Spring temperatures. It's been nice to get these Winter breaks every other weekend lately to get out of the house and do something outside without freezing your butt off! Made our way to Hoof Hearted's new brewery in Italian Village. It kind of looks like a retro-modern library inside and after waiting forever to get some beer, we weren't overly impressed. Maybe we'll go back once the crowd has died down and we can actually get a table (the swim up bar service will be interesting in the summer).
